On Wednesday, April 20, Kevin Oldaker led police on a pursuit that began in the Worcester County town of Charlton until he was apprehended in the Berkshire County town of Stockbridge, according to Massachusetts State Police.
According to an update from police on Thursday, April 21, Oldaker was charged with the following:
- Receiving a stolen motor vehicle
- Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
- Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
- Failure to stop for police
- Marked lanes violation
- Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
- Carrying a dangerous weapon (knife)
- Speeding
- Fugitive from justice on Maine and Illinois warrants
Authorities said his arraignment was scheduled for Thursday.
A trooper first located Oldaker sleeping in a stolen 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor at the Charlton Service Plaza on the Massachusetts Turnpike westbound at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Oldaker, a resident of Illinois, refused to unlock the doors of the Mitsubishi and drove away from the scene, authorities said.
He eventually hit a tire deflation device police had deployed, and the pursuit ended in Stockbridge, police said.
He was arrested shortly after 9 a.m.
Police also reported Oldaker was wanted on a warrant out of Maine charging him with violent stalking and a warrant out of Illinois charging him with home invasion and sexual assault.
